Twelve weeks ago we started a focused plan to improve visibility through AI ready content, stronger structure and clearer answers. The goal was simple. Create content that search systems and AI assistants can understand instantly, and to improve the quality of traffic coming into the site.
Now that the first season is complete, it is a good time to share what has changed, what has worked and what comes next.
The shift in how people discover information
AI assistants and search platforms are changing how results appear. More answers are presented directly, and more searches end without a click. This is where AEO has made a difference. When content is structured in a way that answers questions clearly, it is more likely to be selected, cited or surfaced in these new formats.
Over the last twelve weeks we have seen a steady and clear increase in impressions from AI surfaces, question led searches and long form queries from customers who are looking for specific guidance or expertise.
What improved the most
Here are the areas where the biggest gains appeared.
Stronger visibility for question led searches
When posts were written around real questions rather than broad topics, they appeared more often for long form queries. These searches usually come from customers who are further along in their decision making, which helps improve enquiry quality.
Higher impressions in AI driven areas
Several posts have now been picked up by AI snippet previews. The traffic from these results arrives with higher engagement and longer time on page because people have already seen a clear answer before clicking through.
More consistent local visibility
With clearer content structure and better use of entities, local search presence has become steadier. Pages appear for a wider variety of location based searches and hold their position more consistently through the week.
Increased traffic quality
The total volume of traffic has grown, but the most important change is that more of this traffic is relevant. Bounce rates have dropped, time on site has increased and the pages that used to receive rushed visits are now performing more evenly.
What we learned
The last twelve weeks have made a few things very clear:
- Customers want precise answers
When information is written in natural language and structured around intent, customers stay longer and are more likely to visit more than one page. - Search systems reward clarity
Well structured headings, clean layouts, simple copy and helpful summaries all help AI decide whether a page is trustworthy. - Consistency matters more than volume
Posting regularly, even once a week, creates stability in search performance. Ten high quality posts are more effective than twenty filler topics written for the sake of output. - AEO complements traditional SEO
It does not replace the fundamentals. It strengthens them by making information easier for systems to use.
What happens next
The next phase will focus on building deeper authority through more case studies, more transparent performance summaries and more content that helps business owners understand changes in search.
We will keep developing question led content, strengthen internal linking and continue improving the structure that supports AI visibility.
The goal for the next season is simple. Improve the number of high quality enquiries and continue to build visibility across the new search formats that customers are beginning to rely on.
